We are pleased to present the Windham Cooperative Kindergarten and Nursery School (WCK) staff.

WCK is committed to the professional development of its staff. We encourage and provide a means for staff members to further their education by participating in courses, seminars and workshops. These educational growth opportunities allow us to stay current with early childhood education teaching practices and to provide quality programming for your children.

MRS. NANCY D’AGOSTINO:
SCHOOL DIRECTOR / LEAD TEACHER (3-DAY) - KINDERGARTEN EXTENDED ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

Mrs. D'Agostino began teaching at WCK in 1984. Her teaching positions have included kindergarten, pre-K and nursery teacher. In 1993 Mrs. D'Agostino added the role of director to her position at WCK. In the fall of 2002 Mrs. D'Agostino stepped out of her teaching role to focus on her duties as a director. These duties include: curriculum development, mentoring staff, working with WCK families, and communicating with the state. Prior to her employment at WCK, she served WCK in many capacities including co-op parent, executive board member, classroom volunteer and substitute teacher.

Mrs. D'Agostino received her Bachelor of Science degree in education from UMass, Boston and a Master's degree in education in curriculum and instruction from Lesley University. Her graduate work focused on children's learning styles and Gardner's work on multiple intelligences. Mrs. D'Agostino is a certified New Hampshire educator. In addition to her role as WCK's director, she is an early childhood educational consultant for schools, as well as a presenter at parenting workshops and professional development seminars. She is a member of Windham's First Teacher Project, Salem's Success By Six Committee, and is on the advisory committee for Salem High School's Early Childhood program. Additional past experience has included teaching first grade in Londonderry, running Salem's Fisk School Library, and Kids College instructor.

Mrs. D'Agostino has 3 children and 4 grandchildren. She enjoys the outdoors, whether it be gardening, walking or listening to the birds. One of her favorite things about her job is seeing children and staff get excited about learning. She delights in seeing how far children come in a year, and watching their confidence grow as they master new skills! Mrs. D'Agostino is also the lead teacher for the 3-day Kindergarten Extended Enrichment Program (KEEP). She is passionate about this program and enjoys being able to lead children in various explorations, which reinforce the school's curriculum.

MRS. PATTI MICHAL:
ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR

As assistant to the director, Mrs. Michal handles much of the day-to-day operations of the school. The children affectionately refer to her as "The Door Lady" and "The Principal." She joined the WCK staff after five years on WCK's Executive Board, having held several different positions. She furthered her experience with an assistant teaching position, which she held for a year at WCK. These roles have given Mrs. Michal a strong understanding of the school's history and operations and have increased her ability to better serve WCK's families.

In addition to her role as assistant to the director, Mrs. Michal is the staff representative on the I-93 Housing Committee. She also steps into the classroom when needed and is often one of the teachers for WCK's summer camps. Mrs. Michal holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. If you have questions about health or emergency forms, medications, dates or petty cash reimbursements she is the one to go to.

MRS. TERESA MAGEE:
LEAD TEACHER - KINDERGARTEN

Mrs. Magee joined WCK in 2007 as the lead kindergarten teacher. She is very enthusiastic and offers a well-developed vision for her kindergarten classroom. Mrs. Magee holds her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Framingham State College and her Master's degree in elementary education from the University of New Hampshire. She maintains her New Hampshire teaching certification. Her previous experience has included teaching first and second grades and substitute teaching.

Mrs. Magee explored the value of nonfiction in literacy programs while obtaining her master's degree. She is also passionate about writing with the children and has experience in picture writing. If you are in her classroom, don't be surprised to hear a song come from Mrs. Magee! She is enjoying teaching at WCK and working with our kindergarten students.

MRS. LISA STORIE:
ASSOCIATE TEACHER - KINDERGARTEN

Mrs. Storie first came to WCK as an active parent volunteer who enjoyed her time in the classroom. She later worked at WCK as a paraprofessional for a kindergarten child with special needs. Mrs. Storie continued her work as a paraprofessional for the Windham Preschool Special Education Program for three years. She returned to WCK as a full-time assistant teacher in 2000. For the first two years, Mrs. Storie assisted in nursery, pre-k and kindergarten and has since become the associate teacher in the kindergarten program. Her experience working with a wide range of children is an asset in the kindergarten classroom.

Mrs. Storie has a Bachelor of Science degree. During her time at WCK she has completed two levels of early childhood certificates and her first teaching practicum. Her coursework and experience qualify her as an associate teacher. This makes her eligible to teach in the classroom in the absence of the lead teacher. She is also one of WCK's camp instructors for the summer program. Mrs. Storie is married with 4 children and is actively involved in her church's youth program. One of her favorite things about teaching is "seeing the children's expressions when they learn something new or finally master something they have been working on."

MRS. HEATHER HANKUS:
LEAD TEACHER - PRE-KINGERGARTEN

Mrs. Hankus joined WCK in January of 2007 as the Pre-K teacher. She has made a vibrant addition to the school with her creativity, energy, and enthusiasm. Mrs. Hankus obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education with a minor in psychology from Keene State College. She has taught in the Windham, Hampstead, and Raymond, New Hampshire school systems. Other experience includes directing and teaching pre-kindergarten in a community-based program, as well as teaching our WCK summer camps. Mrs. Hankus enjoys antiquing and spending time up north with her family. Best of all, she is a graduate from WCK!

MRS. KERRY WENTWORTH:
ASSISTANT TEACHER - PRE-KINDERGARTEN

Mrs. Wentworth came to the Windham Cooperative Kindergarten in 2002. She holds an Associate's degree in business and initially applied for a position in the office. However, it was quickly apparent that the classroom was the right spot for her! Mrs. Wentworth is currently the assistant teacher in the pre-kindergarten program and also teaches during the WCK summer camps. Prior to joining WCK, Mrs. Wentworth taught Fun and Fitness classes to young children at CRA of Southern New Hampshire. Her experience with early childhood gross motor development offers WCK an important and unique asset. Mrs. Wentworth's enthusiasm is always evident. The precious candid openness and stories from the children truly bring joy and laughter to Mrs. Wentworth and are her most treasured part of teaching. She also enjoys golfing with her family.

MS. CINDY JURY:
LEAD TEACHER- NURSERY

Ms. Jury joined the WCK staff in 2007 as the lead nursery teacher. Shas been in early childhood education for many years. She has achieved New Hampshire Highly Qualified Teacher status in both elementary and early childhood education with a statement of eligibility in special education. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and early childhood education from Lesley University and a Master's in education from Lesley University and Cambridge College. Ms. Jury provided family childcare for many years and has served as a kindergarten teacher, center director, and public school district special education preschool coordinator.

Ms. Jury is married with two daughters, one of whom is a public kindergarten teacher and the other a high school student. She is the executive director of Salem Family Resources - Success by Six, a nonprofit organization that provides programs and information to families with young children in the greater-Salem area. Ms. Jury is very nurturing and calming which aids in providing our nursery students a smooth and happy transition into schooling.

MRS. FRANNIE GREENBERG:
ASSISTANT TEACHER (3-DAY)/ LEAD TEACHER (1-DAY) - KINDERGARTEN EXTENDED ENRICHMENT PROGRAM (KEEP)

Mrs. Greenberg came to WCK in 2007. For the past 25 years she has been teaching in a variety of settings. Her background is in museum education, where she has worked as education director and education consultant to museums such as The Children's Museum of West Hartford, Maryland Science Center, The Children's Discovery Museum in Acton, MA, Franklin Institute, Garden State Discovery Museum, and many others. As well as teaching at WCK, Mrs. Greenberg is the science teacher at Winnie's Kindergarten in Londonderry, and the executive director for Kids College, a non-profit organization offering programs and support to gifted children, teachers, and families. She has learned to juggle her schedule so that she can also squeeze in coaching a Destination Imagination team.

Mrs. Greenberg and her husband Michael live in Windham with their three daughters. She enjoys ballroom dancing, relaxing in Vermont, and a good cup of hot tea.

MRS. MARY ALICE BOONE:
ASSISTANT TEACHER (1-DAY) - KINDERGARTEN EXTENDED ENRICHMENT PROGRAM (KEEP)

Mrs. Boone enthusiastically joined our staff in 2007 as an assistant teacher. She was pleased to return to WCK, as she was previously a WCK parent when her three children attended to Co-op.

Mrs. Boone obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science at Bates College. Prior to starting a family, she gained teaching and training experience in the insurance industry. Through the years, Mrs. Boone has worked with children in a variety of capacities. She has been a city recreation playground instructor and supervisor, and has substitute taught. Since having her family, she has volunteered in her children's classrooms, taught religious education classes, and served as an assistant coach for a variety of her children's sports teams.

Mrs. Boone has substituted at Golden Brook and Center Schools since 2005. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Samantha's Harvest, a non-profit organization with a mission to enhance the lives of those living with Down syndrome. Mrs. Boone enjoys spending time with her family.
